Patent images of the upcoming hybrid double-cab pickup truck from the prominent Chinese automotive manufacturer BYD have surfaced online, preceding its anticipated debut next year.
The leaked images show features like a prominent BYD logo on the front grille, massive fenders and bumpers, roof rails, and a compact sunroof. Notably, this new pickup truck will feature the BYD badge, deviating from the company's premium brands, YangWang or Fang Cheng Bao.
BYD is set to unveil a plug-in hybrid version of the pickup truck ahead of the fully electric variant, indicating that the vehicle will likely utilize a ladder frame rather than a dedicated electric vehicle platform.
While specific technical details for the electric vehicle are not available at this time, media reports suggest that the plug-in hybrid model will incorporate a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine and two electric motors with a combined output of 365 kW.
